# .NET 8.0.410 - May 22, 2025

Today, we are releasing .NET 8.0.410 which is an update to [.NET 8.0.409][8.0.16] SDK. Our May release for .NET 8.0.409 missed a fix for [CVE-2025-26646](https://github.com/dotnet/announcements/issues/356) which impacts Microsoft.Build.Tasks.core.dll. Note that there is no change to the .NET 8.0.16 runtime, this is an SDK only change. No action is required if you're only deploying the .NET 8 runtime, but if you're deploying the .NET 8 SDK then you will need to pick up the re-release with the fix.

The .NET 8.0.410 release is available for download. This SDK includes the released .NET 8.0.16 Runtime. The latest 8.0 release is always listed at [.NET 8.0 Releases](../README.md).

1. Includes the .NET Runtime and ASP.NET Core Runtime
2. For hosting stand-alone apps on Windows Servers. Includes the ASP.NET Core Module for IIS and can be installed separately on servers without installing .NET Runtime.

The .NET SDK includes a matching updated .NET Runtime. Downloading the Runtime or ASP.NET Core packages is not needed when installing the SDK.

You can check your .NET SDK version by running the following command. The example version shown is for this release.

## Visual Studio Compatibility

You need [Visual Studio 17.10](https://visualstudio.microsoft.com) or later to use .NET 8.0 on Windows. The [C# extension](https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/dotnet) for [Visual Studio Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/) supports .NET 8.0 and C# 12.0.
