**Note:** If a workflow is skipped due to path filtering, but the workflow is set as a required check, then the check will remain as "Pending". To work around this, you can create a corresponding workflow with the same name that always passes whenever the original workflow is skipped because of path filtering. #### Example: Excluding paths
When all the path names match patterns in `paths-ignore`, the workflow will not run. If any path names do not match patterns in `paths-ignore`, even if some path names match the patterns, the workflow will run.
